The New Mexico Immigrant Law Center (NMILC) provides free legal assistance and resources for immigrants. The mission is to advance justice and equity by empowering low-income immigrant communities through collaborative legal services, advocacy and education. NMILC supports children through the Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) process which allows any immigrant child who has been abandoned, abused or neglected by a parent to apply for this special status which can lead to permanent residency and eventually, citizenship- which opens many doors for their futures.
