Communities in Schools was established in Santa Fe over 35 years ago in October, 2012. The mission of CIS is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Working in close partnership with the SFPS, one CISNM site coordinator is placed full time in the school to support SFPS’s ‘Plan for Student Success’ as they assess the needs and deliver necessary resources to every child, matching needs of the students and families with the resources in the community plus working with teachers and administrators in making schools places of learning and achievement.
